Capital Is More Than Funding. It Is a Strategic Decision.
A financing decision affects leverage, cash flows, repayment capacity, asset ownership and the long-term flexibility of the business — not just the amount that lands in the account.
EquiFin Advisory works with businesses to bring structure and clarity to that decision, from understanding the capital requirement to structuring the transaction and getting it through to institutional close.
Independent Thinking for Complex Capital Decisions.
EquiFin Advisory is a corporate finance and debt advisory firm. We work with businesses that are raising growth capital, financing a project, refinancing existing debt or preparing for a transaction significant enough that it deserves more than a straightforward loan application.
We are not a lender, and we are not built around pushing a fixed product. Our role is to work out why the capital is needed, what the business can realistically service, and how the transaction should be structured — before it goes anywhere near a bank, NBFC or fund. Most financing conversations start with a lender search. Ours start one step earlier, with the requirement itself.
Who We Work With.
The size of the business matters less than the significance of the capital decision. Our conversations are typically with:
Promoters & Business Owners — evaluating growth capital, expansion or a refinancing decision.
CFOs & Finance Leaders — reviewing capital structure, leverage and institutional financing options.
Developers & Project Sponsors — structuring capital around project cash flows and execution timelines.
Growing Enterprises — dealing with financing needs that have outgrown a single-bank relationship.
Established Businesses — preparing for a significant capital raise or institutional review.
How We Think About Capital.
Capital Should Follow the Business, Not the Other Way Round
A financing structure should reflect how the business actually generates cash and plans to grow — not force the business to fit a lender's standard product.
Structure Matters as Much as the Amount
Tenor, repayment, security and covenants shape a transaction as much as how much gets sanctioned. Getting the amount right and the structure wrong is still a bad outcome.
Lenders Have Their Own Logic
A proposal has to work for the business and make sense to a credit committee. Ignoring the second half is a common reason good businesses get turned down.
Execution Needs as Much Discipline as the Strategy
Even a well-conceived financing plan still needs proper preparation, the right lender conversation and follow-through to disbursement.
How We Work.
EquiFin’s role can extend across the full transaction, or focus on a specific stage — depending on where the business needs support.
The business, the purpose of the capital and what it needs to achieve.
Cash flows, existing leverage, security position and realistic debt capacity.
Quantum, tenor, repayment and the capital providers worth approaching.
Lenders who actually have appetite for the transaction, not a mass mailing list.
Sanction, documentation and disbursement — staying involved until it closes.
Why Promoters and CFOs Work With Us.
Independent, Not Lender-Led
We don’t represent a bank or NBFC, so the starting question is what the business needs — not which product we happen to be carrying that week.
Sector Context, Not a Generic Template
Financing that works for a real estate developer doesn’t work the same way for a manufacturer. The cash-flow pattern, risk and cycle differ, and the structure should reflect that.
We Think Like the Lender Before We Approach One
Understanding how a credit team will read the numbers, before they see them, changes how a proposal gets built and where it gets taken.
No Guaranteed Outcomes, No False Comfort
Financing depends on business performance, transaction structure and each lender’s own approval process. We won’t promise a rate or a sanction before a case has actually been reviewed — that is not how credit works, and pretending otherwise helps no one.
Every Capital Requirement Has a Context.
The first step isn’t picking a lender or a product — it’s understanding the business situation behind the requirement. If you’re evaluating a financing transaction or reviewing your capital structure, that’s the conversation to start with.
